Here's wishing you all a lovely holiday...Dave, MicMac, Paddywack and I got
together again for our annual photoshoot...
We are leaving on Thursday for a Christmas cruise on the Amazon...we fly to Lima, Peru, then to Iquitos, where we board the Aqua for 7 days of adventure.
This is a short trip for us; we'll be back before New Year's Eve.
I've done a little sewing for this trip, but it's a very casual cruise, very hot and steamy, so no big wardrobe post! We won't have internet, so I'll take some pictures to show you when we get back.
This has been a bittersweet holiday season, so far; my dear friend Joan lost her
brilliant 49-year old son from complications following a heart attack. He was a spectacular man, deeply involved with his family, including two young sons, an American Lit professor at Cal Berkeley. Such a tragedy...
Enjoy your loved ones during the holidays...
Margy
Merry Christmas, Have a lovely holiday, sounds great.

ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays Margy - I don't know why it is that when we lose someone dear at this time of year, it always seems worse than any other. I too just lost a dear, old friend and not seeing him when I'm in SFO is going to be so tough. But you guys have another great adventure! and I look forward to seeing you the next tiem I'm in your neck of the woods!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture and will look forward to your pictures and reflections of the trip. Have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip; photo is so fun, but is the kitty smiling or frowning at Paddywack? lol

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for friend, Joan and her loss. Seems so tragic when it our younger generation goes before the parent.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is fab as always.
BTW, I copied your idea of the Mccalls tunic....have made one and 2 more ready for the scissors. Love it! Thanks for the being the forerunner of stylish ideas for us of a certain age. :)
Happy holidays to you, and my sympathies to your friend and her family. I so enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteMicMac, Paddywack give a dog a bone...haven't had that rolling in my head for a long while, :) As photogenic as cats are, it's never easy getting them to pose for the camera. Especially with the lesser species beside them...kidding!!! It's a lovely photo, the hat is darling on you...and I wish you both the very best of the season! Enjoy your cruise. My heart does go out to your dear friend Joan and her family.
ReplyDeleteYour dog!! I have an English cocker spaniel too, whom I adore. Mine is solid black.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, and safe travels! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletethinking about you, your friend's cruel loss, your trip…each season seems to be filled with conflicting emotions. at some times we must just put one foot in front of the other...
ReplyDeleteI like how you say that - oh yes, just a wee cruise down the Amazon. The AMAZON? What DOES one wear for such an outing? Clearly you have the perfect pieces picked out for such a hot and steamy adventure. Dave is so handsome in his towering kingly hat and the furry critters are just too huggable! Be safe and have a blast! Happy holidays.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to Joan and her family for their tragic, tragic loss.
