This gorgeous fabric, from Gorgeous Fabrics, of course, was something I could not resist.
It's from Japan, a jacquard, in MY shade of red.
I made it pretty much as printed, except that I lined it in another fabric from
Gorgeous Fabrics
and I redrafted the collar, making it narrower. Those wide collars always remind me of the '70's! I'm very happy with it; the weight and coloration are more suited for fall and winter in my sunny climate, so I'll wear it once or twice and put it away for a few months.

Fun project!
Do I spy with my little eye that this is slightly more fitted than your usual jackets?
ReplyDeleteGreat jacket. Now I want one, always do when a pattern is OOP. 8-D
Great looking jacket. I love that it is a little fitted. Cute fabric!
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket - beautiful
ReplyDeleteLove this style of jacket and the fit and fabric are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat's a terrific version of a very dressed up jeans jacket. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteElle C...the pattern is still on the McCalls website...hurry! And yes, I am deliberately making more body-conscious clothes...
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Mom!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric, great pattern choice, very flattering color for you. I really like this one!
ReplyDeleteI really like this! You have such a well coordinated palette of fabrics--everything goes with everything else. Love those bracelets, too.
ReplyDeleteI have this pattern too. I have a couple pieces of fabric to make it up in. Good to see how it looks on you first. I will have to look at the collar size for me. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteLove it and that wonderful fit in the back tells eveyone this is NO jean jacket!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work and lovely result. Would love a close-up on that lining. Great marriage of pattern and fabric.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful jacket -- always impressed by your style.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, Margy. LOVE this jacket!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a 'gorgeous' fabric for sure...and I love the lining.
ReplyDeleteEverything about your jacket is perfect. You look sensational. Love the lining.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty, and so special with the lining you added. I like the body conscious style, and the more relaxed flowing stuff. I seem to stay in one style for awhile, then switch over. I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteLooks great and I love the fabric!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful, wonderful jacket!
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is a great jacket! I have that pattern sitting in my stash. Now if I can look as wonderful and you and your jacket do, I'll be all set.
ReplyDeleteHi Margy: I love your jacket and the fabric – a beautiful match. I wish I could zoom in on the pix for more detail.
