NOT Black and White!!!

No, black and GRAY and white...a change!
This is B5526, my current TNT blouse/shirt pattern. It's in a beautiful Japanese shirting cotton from Marcy Tilton from a year or so ago. I added bias details...cuffs, under-collar, front bands
I thought I was making this to go with my favorite gray jeans
but...the colors weren't right when I took the (finished) shirt out in the sunshine...memo to self, don't rely on the lights in the studio, even though they're Ott lights...so, luckily, they go with black jeans.
I either have to remove the gray jeans from my Sicily travel wardrobe, or find a shirt fabric that goes with this gray...hmmm.

On to the next project...

  2. Another beautiful and chic top, Margy! (And it's quite a gift to make jeans and a button down shirt look as chic as you do!)

  3. Dear Margy,
your blog ist an inspiration for me. I like your style beyond the mainstream. Your new blouse looks great, your choice of fabric always it excellent. You'll find a perfekt pants fabric even for this top.
(I'm not sure whether i found the precise terms in this post)

And, and this is the reason I leave a comment here, your trousers look wonderful. I'll just try to sew some for me, it isn't an easy prozess.
    Have a nice week

  6. What a great shirt. The range of shades is very appealing, and the bias use on the cuffs and placket gives a softer look to the geometric print - maybe now you need some new grey trousers in the right shade ;)

  16. Here you are again, rockin' a pair of jeans. You look just terrific in this outfit, even though (or just because) it's black and gray. Love what you did with the bias on the shirt, and the buttons are perfect. Another super outfit!
