The fabric is a lovely Italian cotton check from Fabric Mart, purchased several years ago. I lengthened the top by 2 1/2 inches to cover my bum, in case I do take it to Iran. I also cut separate front facings on the bias, and did bias sleeve
plackets and pockets.
It's quite comfortable to wear, and goes with my favorite Eileen Fisher slim pants in Ash. These are fabulous to travel with and I'm taking them in black, as well. The only reason the shirt may not make the cut is if it wrinkles too much. It is 100% cotton, so I'm wearing it often to see how it does.I have some new sun readers from EyeBobs, designed by one of my favorite
fashion divas, Iris Apfel (blogged about here).
Aren't they cute?
And I got these several weeks ago, designed by Melissa Eyewear;
Still no eye makeup, although my allergies are MUCH better. I DO love me
some flashy glasses!
We leave two weeks from tomorrow...I'm off to the studio to make a travel vest (with POCKETS!).
Awesome glasses! The top is great too ...perfect match for your pants.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie....so nice to see you back blogging again!
DeleteHow darned cute is that shirt? I want that. Cute glasses, too. Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gwen...I'm getting excited...
DeleteWhat a stunning shirt. I do like it, very much. The glasses are fun too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Graca!
DeleteGorgeous! - the shirt and the glasses!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Irene....!
DeleteAnother stylish shirt! You're really sewing up a storm. It looks great on you, as do the glasses. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Dixie!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Shams....
Deletelove the shirt I hope hope the wrinkle judge allows it to travel. Your glasses are such a statement and you definitely look great in them. 2 weeks how exciting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pauline...your date is coming up fast, too!
DeleteFun glasses. And only two weeks to go....
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vicki...
DeleteAs always, stylish and perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ruth...
DeleteI love everything you make. One question: do you sleep? Much?? Ever?? Oh, to have your spirit and energy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Fran...my energy ebbs and flow...right now it's flowing!
DeleteI love your sense of style! The glasses are great and the shirt! Oh my! I have that pattern. You have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteMargy, I love these new glasses on you! You are so stylish. And the new top is fabulous too. Thinking I need to check out EF pants too.
ReplyDeleteYou will love these pants, Martha...thanks!
DeleteHooray!! New Glasses! two awe inspiring choices there, just beautiful - enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteI am loving your new 'option' for two reasons. First, it looks great on you, very cool to wear and nicely showcases your black and silver bangles. Chic! Second, i have some nice linen in a chinoiserie print i'd like to make into a duster - i'm thinking of lengthening Katherine Tilton's new shirt jacket (B5891 view C/D). The hemline is quite similar to yours here, which looks very nice. I'll still make a muslin but i'm much more confident and excited about the outcome after seeing your results!! :)
Happy Weekend All, steph
Thanks, Steph...good luck on your shirt!
DeleteAnother great look! Love that fabric and those pants look like they'd be perfect to travel in AND they look amazing, too! You know what I think, Margy? I think you're going to spend the entire trip being stopped in the street by women wanting to know where you found your amazing outfits!
ReplyDeleteWho knows...maybe a designer label is born? :) You're going to show a whole new style!
Thanks so much!
DeleteBTW...LOVE those bracelets! SO cute!
ReplyDeleteI've had (and worn) these bracelets for 40 years!
DeleteI love your shirt! I am a sucker for gray and asymmetric hems - that's a winner as far as I am concerned.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Juli!
DeleteLove this look. Since I've let my hair go gray I've been wearing more grays and silvers. I am in love with your sandals. What kind are they?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liana! I can't wait to see your hair! The sandals are ECCO's, from several years ago. They are a faux crocodile in a particularly pretty red...
DeleteI changed my profile picture, but am not sure it will show up here. Thanks for the shoe info.

ReplyDeleteHow can I even look at B5786 when you are sporting that eyewear? One scroll down and I thought Iris Apfel, but better because I know you! (kind of anyway)... My heart beats for those Melissa's, but the EyeBob's are right up there. These look absolutely fantastic on you.
